Hey Hera. I was wondering if it was possible to introduce the three fates as canon characters? I think it might eventually generate a new plot, since all the gods fear them. And they could be played seperatly, to make it more interesting, or as a couple or group for ease of use! Like a combo deal! Heh, sorry. Just a thought. If you think its a good idea, could i reserve one of them (though, at this rate, 40 posts will be a while...), please

Hmmm... Sounds like a good idea, but wouldn't the fates be a little controlling, at least the people who play them? It wouldn't give anyone a true feeling of free will in the plot if three people are driving who does exactly what. It's just a thought. We'll probably have a staff meeting on the idea, Terpischore.

Actually, the myth kind of branches off into a few different versions of how the Fates relate to mortals' destinies, and how they can affect the gods. Some accounts say that the three are merely custodians of destinines and controlled only when and how the mortals would die. Another version is that the Fates guide humans through dreams, and subtle subconcious influence; nudging them toward different destinies. They do not have control over the actual events in a person's life, or the end decisions they make. As for how they relate to the rest of the gods, there are really no references to the Fates ever actually doing anything to them. Merely that the Gods fearthem because even they can't escape fate. I dunno. There are many different versions of what the Fates are capable of, and some overlap with the allotment of the Furies, which are the 'prosecuters of man and Gods'. So i think that if you pick the right strain ofmythology and set good parameters for their abilities, it could be fun! Just a thought.

Well, if you put it that way... I'll put in a word for it in the Staff Board k?

I like this idea. Perhaps we can make the Fates neutral (means they don't get influenced by Eris' spell). The Fates will do their job, like you said, guiding the Olympians, Titans, Primordial Deities, Demigods, and Minor gods by dreams. They won't control too much on the gods, because if they do, it will change the plot. Perhaps we can make them guiding the gods through dreams. Nice idea, thanks Terpsichore! Oh and you don't need 40 posts to make second character. Since we have new money system, so you need to have 60 golds first to make second character
