Fellows of Olympian Tales Nothing is harder than losing someone you love. But friends can help with the healing. Please know that you have friends who care.
Today Helios told us a shocking news about Nike, his sister and also a member of Olympian Tales, our friend. She has left us forever. We know she has struggled to fight her disease.
And for Helios and your family, please accept our deepest condolence on your recent loss of your sister. Her death is a shock to all of us. She was a dedicated member and a good friend.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I never met Nike, but I read her RP's. She was talented and portrayed her character well. I only wish I could have met her. I hope her family and friends can find comfort in these sad times, I lost my grandfather in March, it was awful because I was very close to hom. But that pales in comparrison to losing a sister. I dont like the word condolences, so all I can say is, again, I wish her family and friends comfort and healing.

You're right, I don't like that either, neither is sympathy (same thing), so let's just say about that to Helios' family. I don't have any brothers and sisters, but I know how it feels like losing someone who's even closer than just a friend.

I said a prayer for Helios's family and for Nike as soon as I read this announcement. Though I'm at loss of words to share this grief, for I did not know Nike well, I can give my deepest condolences.

Thanks a lot ya'll. Ya'll have proved ya'll are really caring. I know what it's like losing a dad, grandma, aunt, and uncle, so I can help ya'll with that. All of mine were about 3 months apart, and now Nike 4 years after. If everyone I knew cared as much as ya'll, this would be a perfect world.

Thats just so terrible to hear. It's always tragic to here about a life lost, even if I didn't know Nike she was a talented writer and will be terribly missed. I wish Helios and the rest of Nike's family all the comfort in the world.

Well I suppose this site lucked out and got all the nice people. I was on another site and made a suggestion, the feedback I got was... harsh to say the least and I was a bit younger and going through a tough spot. Some how I had brought this up after being heckled and after explaining that is was just a suggestion and that my aunt had passed away recently and my grand mother was trying to recover from cancer. Let's just say that had no sway on their tone towards the positive. If anything they were suddenly more hostile and the site was too large for anything to be done to or for either of us.
I guess what I'm trying to say is... the site is really lucky to have the member base that is does. This is the first site that if I went to advertise for I could honestly say 'friendly members ' without lieing or exxagerateing. Its such a shame to loose one.

I'm glad that here we have friends and members that really care about others. Like Andromeda said earlier in General Board, I also feel that members here have kind of connection to each other.
I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt. Please accept my sympathy and hope the best for your grandmother's health.

Once again Helios you have all our support and friendship, we are here for you. Aww... Hera But honestly I agree, but it is not only friendly because of the members that have joined I also think the staff are really sweet and honest and they never yell at you if you miss something in your app, for example, I once joined a forum that was quite strict but I really knew most of what the forum was about if not more than the staff themselves and when I posted my app, lets just say... they cut it in pieces like a butcher cuts meat before selling it (no offense meant) and criticized me all they could even when I didn't put comas whenever they wanted them to be oO I really want to thank the staff for always being so caring and understanding whenever we have rough times or need to ask questions just to be sure, this creates a cozy environment and I really have to say I love this forum and don't think I have never enjoyed writing about Greek Mythology as I am right now. Yes, I am sorry to hear that too Ares, I know what is like to fight that disease... it is quite close to my family to say the least...

Well that was a few years back. She passed away a little over a month ago. And I just hate it when people get into the grammar and spelling of a bio. As long as you can easily read it there shouldn't be an issue. If there is a sentence that doesn't make sense or a name mix up makes a paragraph confusing then ask for clarification but not accepting someone for comma placement? Its RP not editorial weekly.

Thank you, Andromeda So true, you're an RPer not a journalist and staffs aren't editors ;D. I've been a member in some several forums before I built this site. So I know how it's like to be a member. Some people often think that members are admin's subordinates. But I think it's wrong, because for me, an admin has to be a friend and a guide.

I can speak from experience that honey attracts more flies than vinegar. I probalby just butchered the saying but I don't care. First site I ever made I was really mean and strict with my members and it died in months. One of my more nicer members made a site based of the same theme and all my members went to his site when mine died. His was to say the least a lot more successful. ;D

yea everyone's the same regardless if their staff or not. Being staff don't make you real important, no offense, but a member is just as important. If a site ain't got no members tghen it don't need no staff.
Wow I went country, sorry.
