I just realized that I remembered you, (Hera) encouraging or at least mentioning that you could be a deity from another mythology seeing as I think I recall someone considering being Horus from Egyptian mythology which got me thinking:

If you can be a deity from another mythology, would it technically then be allowed to be the Roman counterpart of an already taken Greek deity? I know it is kinda random but its been bothering me in the back of my mind for the last couple days and I would like to know the answer. For example some one came and requested that Hermes be reserved. For this example we will assume that that person wasn't actually a second account of the already accepted Hermes requesting his name be listed as an already taken person.

this new member discovers that other mythologies are allowed and requests to be Mercury, servant of Jupiter and messenger to the Roman gods (I'm not as familiar with Roman Mythology so i could be completely off on his duties). Would he/she then be allowed to continue or be rejected?

I'll discuss this with the staff, the old version of OT allows Roman deity. But it seems confusing to see Hermes and Mercury in one place.

I know, that's why I brought it up. Pretty bad for Ares's ego if he has to mess with Mars all the time and Zeus wouldn't be too happy about sharing the universe with Jupiter while Demeter and Ceres would probably get along enough to spread the agriculture all over both their empires.

So true, that would be very confusing. We're thinking about just focusing on Greek myth or maybe allowing gods out of Romans, like Egyptian, Norse... those deities have no connection or similarity with the Greek I think
