The raucous calls of seagulls float inland from Long Island Sound. The rising sun
shines though the twelve cabins, casting shadows over the ground. Campers begin
to stream out of the
cabins, talking and heading toward the mess hall. Soon, the twelve cabins are empty,
all the campers that had occupied them are gone, off to their first activities.
Welcome to Camp Halfblood,
the demigods' safe haven and summer camp. The camp on Long Island Sound has always
been the safest place for half-bloods. But now, Hades is planning to overthrow the
gods, and, worst of all, the gods of Olympus have stayed ignorant to the god of the
underworld. So, as Hades grows stronger, the gods continue to ignor the threat. And the
only ones who are left to save Olympus are the demigods of Camp Halfblood.
