When the Cullens were put on trial for Renesmee's existence, the Volturi didn't come to find out the truth themselves, no. They sent the most elite members of their Guard, the Assassins, to eliminate the Cullens.
The problem? The Cullens were prepared. With the La Push Wolves. And when the Assassins arrived to kill the Cullens and their Immortal Child, the Assassin's second in command, Lily Walker, was imprinted on by Seth Clearwater. She couldn't let the other Assassins kill him, or his friends. She convinced the real leader, Juliet, to at least talk to the Cullens first, give them a little time.
After a few days of discussion, Juliet, Sam, Jacob and Carlisle, came to an agreement. Everyone would wait until the Volturri came, and Juliet and Lily would try to convince them not to kill everyone, or fight.
So now, the Cullens, werewolves, Assassins, and all of the other vampires who had assembled are simply waiting. Waiting for a death sentence, most likely.
What will the Volturi choose? Will they kill everyone involved, will they force the Cullens and the Werewolves into slavery, or will they let everyone go home unscathed?
