Clothing: Since he spends most of his time underwater, Alpheus hardly ever wears anything but to cover his lower body with a white linen that falls to his knee. Sometimes he can be seen wearing a chiton but it's very seldom to see him wearing that. He's often seen shirtless most of the time.
Overall Description:
Alpheus is often described of being handsome, though he was in no way to be compared by Apollo's or Aeneas' handsomeness. But still his look is very attractive. He had messy brown hair that shines golden in the sunlight, good skin which is not too pale but not too tan either, and a strong jawline too. Alpheus' eyes are remarkably deep blue and heavily framed in dark lashes.
That's about his facial features and now about his body. He was tall about 185 cm, well built, and he's slightly muscular (so it's true that he has abs). And of course you've read about his clothing which is nothing really much about it. Just white linen that covers his lower body and rarely seen wearing a chiton to cover his upper body. But since he's a river god which means he spends most of his time underwater, he's often seen shirtless.

Girls, watch out!
Alpheus is pretty different if you compare him with other gods. Gods are generally ambitious but Alpheus is way too ambitious with all his desires. He has goals and he's very obsessed to reach them, no matter it sounds impossible or not. This young looking god will do anything he wants to be able to reach his goal, which in this case is, women, though there's only one woman he's after and he's really obsessed with and it's Arethusa. But that doesn't mean you can escape from him (if you are a woman), his charm can make you forget about your man because Alpheus is pretty clever to attract women. Persuasive, that's the word. Not just with his good look but also with his persuasive words. So girls, do not easily get persuaded with his words. They're nothing but fake and to make you pleased. If you reject him, he won't just give up. Oh how he really wishes he can have Eros' power to make someone fall in love with him instantly. He will keep saying persuasive words until you get persuaded eventually.
Romantic? Not so
Good look? Check. Romantic words? Check. But is Alpheus really a romantic person? You can say so, but that's not the fact. He's not a person who can easily fall in love with women. He loves attracting women but he only does that for lust. You know what I mean? So no wonder, he can have many lovers and maybe you'll see him surrounded by women.

He's just a minor god, but he acts as if he's the second Zeus. Alpheus thinks himself as an invincible man and sometimes he thinks himself more handsome than Apollo. Overall he thinks himself as a perfect man but the truth is not. He's just another big-mouthed person. Even a god, he has some flaws. In other hand, you can say he's very stubborn and later it becomes his weakness. You can also say stubborn is the hidden factor behind all of his so-called-perfection, because he gets a lot of problems from being stubborn. Sometimes he finds himself difficult in choosing two options he thinks is tough for him, for example, Alpheus gets very confused in choosing whether he should chase the girl wandering alone in the forest or stays in his palace underwater in that rare sunny day. I know it sounds ridiculous but it's difficult for him to choose which one he should choose.

Like most river gods, Alpheus is the son of Oceanus and Tethys. His origin is from Elis and Arcadia. At a very young age, he was very spoiled and that made him later an arrogant person. Growing up and when he stopped aging for a long time, Alpheus settled in a river in which he ruled. He appeared as a young handsome man which later, no surprise, his handsomeness attracted many girls, from demigods to nymphs. In fact, he was later known as a river god with his uncontrollable desire and lust.
One day, while hunting in the forests of Greece, Alpheus came upon Artemis and began to desire her. She, being a chaste goddess, did not return his feelings. Nonetheless, he attempted to charm her, but was never able to win her over. In one instance, she covered her face and the faces of her nymphs with mud. Being unable to distinguish which was his love, he gave up the chase.
Another sunny day, a beautiful young nymph just happened to wander around the forest alone. Her name was Arethusa and she was one of Artemis' nymphs. Alpheus followed her and hid behind the bush so she wouldn't feel his presence. Arethusa happened to bathe in his waters. However, she fled after she discovered his presence. Like her Goddess, she desired nothing more than to hunt and be free in the forest. After running a great distance nude through the forest, she called upon Artemis who hid her in a cloud. Undaunted, Alpheus continued to search for her until now.
