So now we are here are asking ourselves
Searching for the answer on which everyone delves
What have we done in this prior year?
If we have done anything that felt dear
Something that brought pleasures into one's ear
Something that made someone abandon all fear

The thoughts within…
Like many of the other Olympians, Athena was not immune to the “gifts” of paranoia that Eris had bestowed on them by the usage of scrolls. Not only was this very humiliating for someone with her stature and her seemingly arrogant mindset, but this was a contradiction of her very identity. The pursue of selfish desires…at the cost of justice and rule was too much for her to bear. Although she knows that one must pursue one’s personal goals, one must not do it at the expense of one’s responsibility…
Now the goddess is guilt-ridden…full of inner anguish and shame…
This guilt and shame has breathed a life on its own, and Athena was now under another spell, it was not one crafted by Eris, but a spell that was crafted by her own subconscious…the spell of exaggerated self-atonement…one that could affect every one of us. But for her it was just too great, her view of herself as a goddess of justice added to the shame…
Now she is seeking a way of self-atonement…unknown to her that this might prove more bane than boon…
Her current actions…
Now Athena has been trying to atone for her former mistakes, but her methods, while they seem benevolent, are products of a distorted sense of guilt. She wants to redeem herself but she does not have the full understanding of the implications of her actions, she may rationalize but that is only an illusion to keep her innate ignorance at bay…
She is colder than usual lately, although she can still act when in her mortal form. Her image is of a serene and ethereal beauty, but within lies a very troubled goddess, one where a raging inferno is within her night and day, always budging her to move towards her goals…although her goals are quite benevolent…to atone for her mistakes, she has started to lose herself. She has been working night and day, devoting her entire plan in her journey…she has forgotten to produce a true smile, a true gleam in her eyes…
The future…
She has turned her will into steel, her emotions locked away and sealed with as much protection as the gates to Tartarus itself. She needs someone to break her will someone to break her guilt-induced resolve…to remind her once again that even gods make mistakes and that one must remember to achieve atonement in a more healthy manner…
My personal plot…The Owl’s Lament
This is a personal plot of mine...so that I may keep my Athena in-check...hopefully, with your help, I may actually see this thing through...
I will try to divide my threads with "acts" for the sake of organization but most likely the plot will revolve around herself growing into a workaholic...and go back into a regular goddess who knows how to have fun...hehe...
Act I: The Disillusioned Crusade
Athena has just realized the faults of her past actions and tries desperately to atone for her feeling of guilt, she has started to act on her own in bringing back the mortals to her fold. But really, are the reasons for these more than just for regaining the god's respect?
