About the Roleplayer
Your name: Just call me Artemis How long have you been RPing? 6 yrs. Where/How did you find us? I was a member of the old site. And I think I got there by putting in 'Olympian RP Site' or something of the sort on Google.
The Basics
Name: Artemis Age: Teens Type: Goddess of Olympus Deity (if you want to play a non-Greek god): Greek Nationality: N/A Powers: I've decided to list them alright? -Shapeshifter; not only can the Goddess change her shape from human to animal or even turn into fire or light, she can change the shape of other things. Often, if a mortal man stumbles upon her hunt she will change them into an animal. -Archery; Being one of the twin archers, Artemis can fire a volley of arrows in moments. Her arrows never miss unless she wants them to, and her bow can never break. -Magic; Like the other 12 Olympians, Artemis has very powerful magic. She could use this to summon a table laden with food, or perhaps erect a makeshift temple for her Hunters to stay at. -Animal Magic; Being the Goddess of the Hunt, anything that Artemis shoots she can choose to replenish, unless it is a great foe in which she can prolong it's rebirth but only just. Also, she can communicate with animals. -Telepathy; Artemis has been seen as telepathic on many occasions. She often answers someone's thought-of questions at their wonderment.
Occupation: Goddess of the Hunt
Strike a Pose
Image of your character:
Celeb you're using: Possibly Miranda Cossgrove Physical Appearance: Although Artemis could choose to appear as anything. Whether it be a ball of fire, young woman or old hag, she prefers to look in her younger teens. Because her Huntresses are of age 10 to 15 or around that, she is rarely seen out of this state. However, usually when attending Olympian Meetings, she takes the form of an older self as not to be underestimated.
Feel the heartbeat
Personality Description: Artemis has a very dry and nearly no sense of humor. She is wise beyond her immortal years and seems to see into someones very heart. The Goddess is calm even on the battlefield and never looses control of her emotions. However, Artemis has an intense and nearly perfect memory, she could remember how many times she drew breath the day before or how many arrows she let fly in the last war. Likes: Hunting, Being among her hunters, Holding her arrows, Flying in her sled led by silver stags (where do you think santa clause came from?) Dislikes: Being disrespected, Being underestimated due to her age, Her twin brother. Weaknesses: Artemis has a tendency of loosing her temper when her hunt is interrupted. Her temper is flared to a stubborn unbreakable level when she sees a maiden being in danger or mistreated. Strength: Artemis seems to be more agile and wise when the moon is out, drawing strength by it's beauty.
Story of my Life
Spouse/Lover: Although an eternal maiden, she once did fall in love with Adonis, and her brother tricked her into killing him to protect her maidenship (which she has not regretted) Marital status: Eternal Maiden Family: Father: Zeus Mother: Eto Brother: Apollo (can't figure out anything else) History:Various conflicting accounts are given in Greek mythology of the birth of Artemis and her twin brother, Apollo. All accounts agree, however, that she was the daughter of Zeus and Leto.
An account by Callimachus has it that Hera forbade Leto to give birth on either terra firma (the mainland) or on an island. Hera was angry with Zeus, her husband, because he had impregnated Leto. But the island of Delos (or possibly Ortygia) disobeyed Hera, and Leto gave birth there.
The myths also differ as to whether Artemis was born first, or Apollo.
Childhood
The childhood of Artemis is not embodied in any surviving myth: the Iliad reduced the figure of the dread goddess to a girl, who, having been thrashed by Hera, climbs weeping into the lap of Zeus. A poem of Callimachus – the goddess "who amuses herself on mountains with archery" – imagines some charming vignettes: at three years old, Artemis asked her father, Zeus, while sitting on his knee, to grant her six wishes. Her first wish was to remain chaste for eternity, and never to be confined by marriage. She then asked for lop-eared hounds, stags to lead her chariot, and nymphs to be her hunting companions, 60 from the river and 20 from the ocean. Also, she asked for a silver bow like her brother Apollo. He granted her wishes. All of her companions remained virgins, and Artemis guarded her own chastity closely. Her symbol was the silver bow and arrow.
Myths of Artemis
Artemis and Actaeon
She was once bathing in a vale on Mount Cithaeron, when the Theban prince and hunter Actaeon stumbled across her. One version of this story says that Actaeon hid in the bushes and spied on her as she continued to bathe; she was enraged to discover the spy, and turned him into a stag which was pursued and killed by his own hounds. Alternatively, Actaeon boasted that he was a better hunter than she and Artemis turned him into a stag and he was eaten by his hounds.
Artemis and Adonis
In some versions of the story of Adonis, Artemis sent a wild boar to kill Adonis as punishment for his hubristic boast that he was a better hunter than she.
In other versions, Artemis killed him for revenge. Adonis had been a favorite of Aphrodite, and Aphrodite was responsible for the death of Hippolytus, who had been a favorite of Artemis. Therefore Artemis killed Adonis to revenge Hippolytus’s death.
Orion
Orion was a hunting companion of the goddess Artemis. In some versions of his story he was killed by Artemis, while in others he was killed by a scorpion sent by Gaia. In some versions, Orion tried to rape Opis, one of her followers, and she killed him. In a version by Aratus, Orion took hold of Artemis' robe and she killed him in self-defense. In yet another version, Apollo sent the scorpion. According to Hyginus Artemis once loved Orion, but was tricked into killing him by her brother Apollo, who was protective of his sister's maidenhood.

The app's fine, dear, but you need to post in a picture and have a celebrity claim.
(You've read Percy Jackson, haven't you?)
