About the Roleplayer
Your name: Just Amphitrite
How long have you been RPing? 2 years
Where/How did you find us? I was Hebe on the last site.
The Basics
Name: Amphitrite
Age: Mid to late 20’s
Type: Sea Goddess
Powers: Other than the standard abilities of an immortal, Amphitrite also has limited powers that are sea related, especially towards the creatures that live in the sea. These powers are no where near the power of Poseidon’s, but they are about equal to an average sea god.
Strike a Pose
Image of your character:
Celeb you're using: Scarlet Johansson
Physical Appearance: Amphitrite has pale, soft skin that would have easily burned in the sun, had she been a mortal vulnerable to such injuries. The paleness of her skin matches the almost colorless appearance of her blue-grey eyes. Her locks of gold-blonde hair fall just a bit past the shoulders, though it has been longer in the past. Her hair has a bit of natural curl that refuses to flatten. She is also the owner to voluptuous curves that she had embarrassingly inherited at a younger age than average, though she grew into them beautifully later on.
Feel the heartbeat
Personality Description: At first glance, Amphitrite is the picturesque image of how a queen should be: quiet, graceful, and dutifully standing by her husband. As you move up closer, you’ll find that she’s quite stubborn and refuses to loose herself to the role of queen completely. She has a strong sense of justice and believes wholly in the power of forgiveness, which has gotten her this far in living with the god of the sea. But she does have her moments where she looses control and turns a nymph consort of his into a sea monster or something. She almost always has her wit and composure about her whenever it comes to managing Atlantis while Poseidon is away, which sometimes makes her more diplomatically capable than him at times when he looses his.
Likes: Dolphins, riding on her chariot/sea animals, the sea, her queenly attire, visiting other gods/goddesses
Dislikes: Poseidon’s infidelity, his consorts, whenever she has been wrong about something (morally), being ignored, loosing control of her emotions
Weaknesses: Unfortunately, Amphitrite has a tendency to believe whatever Poseidon tries to persuade her to believe. His mere presence in a room is a weakness in itself. The many years that she has been married to him has caused her to develop something for him, though she hides this as much as possible from him in order to appear “in control.”
Strength: Amphitrite does have a very strong personality, which does not diminish through the time of being married to a powerful god. She can be a bit manipulative when she needs to be, and is not afraid to go after something that she truly desires.
Story of my Life
Spouse/Lover: Poseidon
Marital status: Married
Family:
Father: Nereus
Mother: Doris
Several sisters
History: Amphitrite grew up lost among her several sisters. Though the exact number of her siblings isn’t clear, it may have been around fifty to possibly a hundred. Because of this, Amphitrite grew up feeling devoid of affection and attention directed towards herself and her accomplishments as an individual. Thus, everything that was ever of value, especially when it attributed to her self worth; she would hold onto it in high esteem.
As she grew older, marriage was far from her mind, for it meant sharing and giving yourself up entirely and unconditionally to another. The fates had other plans for her however on the day when Amphitrite and her sisters danced in the presence the god of the sea. The sea goddess then earned Poseidon’s attention quite accidentally. When Poseidon first sought Amphitrite's hand in marriage, fear grew in her heart and she fled his advances, hiding herself away near Atlas in the Ocean stream at the far ends of the earth. The dolphin-god Delphin eventually tracked her down and persuaded her to return to wed the sea-king. She was convinced under promises that she would have anything she so desired and would be cared for. Delphin pleaded Poseidon’s case well.
After being married, she found that Poseidon was a husband of no faith. Out of spite, she would turn into some of his lovers into ugly sea monsters. An example of this was the fate of the beautiful nymph named Scylla. As time wore on for the poor sea goddess, she began to get used to the hurts of being the wife of Poseidon. Yet she still stands by his side, being his queen.
