Physical Appearance: Hecate has raven hair. This is an attribute that many recite, saying that her raven locks had captured the midnight sky and twilight shadows. Hecate has ivory skin that is very pale and violet irises. Hecate wears simple dresses of maroons and blacks along with many cloaks. The Goddess usually has fangs but can easily shape her teeth to that of the norm.

Personality Description: Hecate is ruthless. Often without mercy, the Goddess finds many reasons to vanquish and otherwise destroy mortals, such as if they were to cross her path and she wished to be undisturbed. Hecate does have a slightly gentler side, known for her mood being as unpredictable as the night's events. Hecate often displays far too much power and often uses her Godly abilities to show off and create an image of herself far larger then true.

As well as her ability to bend shadow to her command and create images so terrifying that the witness dies instantaneously.

History: Hecate was a mortal priestess who was commonly associated with Iphigeneia. She scorned and insulted Artemis, eventually leading the mortal to commit suicide. Artemis then adorned the dead body with jewelry and whispered for her spirit to rise and become her Hecate, and act similar to Nemesis as an avenging spirit, but solely for injured women. Such myths where a home deity sponsors or ‘creates’ a foreign one were widespread in ancient cultures as a way of integrating foreign cults. Additionally, as Hecate’s cult grew, her figure was added to the later myth of the birth of Zeus as one of the midwives that hid the child, while Cronus consumed the deceiving rock handed to him by Gaia.
