●● behind the scene
Your name: Lelin/Eros/Medeia/Andromache How long have you been RPing? I remember! Finally! Around two years! Where/How did you find us? Long story
●● i see you
Name: Hypnos Age: Immortal, looks around eighteen Type: God Gender: Male Orientation: Bisexual Title/Position: God of Sleep
●● smile and pose
Image of your character: Clicky Celeb you're using: Nathan Halliday Physical Appearance: Hypnos is... a sexy beast. Tall, muscular (though not bulky), and six-packed, he has a figure to envy or admire. His hair, dark blonde, matches well with his lidded, amber eyes and healthily pale skin. His face isn't short, but that doesn't hide the fact that his neck is long, likewise his legs.
●● the voice within
Personality Description: Dark, cold, stoical- Hypnos is basically antisocial, unemotional, and unwilling to show any sort of feeling. Though his temper is calm and controlled, one must never get on his bad side, for he has an annoying habit of insulting people, notwithstanding the fact that he is also gentle and eager to help when someone's in trouble. Nevertheless, only a carefully selected few could really be known of his personal life, and, despite his frosty heart and rather indifferent mind, Hypnos will protect the ones he -secretly- love. Likes:
- The Darkness
- Candles
- Perfume
Dislikes:
- Sunlight
- Summer
- Anything orange or yellow
Strength: Physically strong, fast runner, hard shell (for his emotions) Weaknesses: Hypnos isn't as strong under sunlight or in daylight, anti-social Powers/Abilities: General Godly Powers, the power to cause anyone to sleep, the power to sleep with his eyes open, the power to cause anyone to sleep with their eyes open... yeah, that's about it.
●● story of my life
Spouse/Lover: Pasithea Marital status: Married Family: Mother, Nyx; Twin Brother, Thanatos; Brothers, Morpheus, Phobetor, Phantasos; Father, None History: Not much is known about Hypnos. As the son of Nyx (night), it is surprising that he has no father, according to the Greek poet Hesiod, therefore being reproduced through Parthenogenesis. However, he is said to often be with Thanatos (death), such as a scene from the Illiad: when Sarpedon heroically died in battle, he was gently carried away by Hypnos and Thanatos.
Another story shows how he won Pasithea's hand in marriage. Hera took a visit to Hypnos, with a request that he should use his powers to distract Zeus from the evening's events. Hypnos, however, refused to interfere with the King of all Gods. Stubborn as usual, the obstinate Hera then offered the beautiful Grace, Pasithea, as a bride. Though having a few scruples, Hypnos had always been in love with Pasithea, and, alas, casted his spell on Zeus.
An example of his lust and longing for her can be read in Homer's Illiad. At Hera's offer, Hypnos spoke to her, "Come then! Swear it to me on Styx's ineluctable water. With one hand take hold of the prospering earth, with the other take hold of the shining salt sea, so that all the undergods who gather about Kronos may be witnesses to us. Swear that you will give me one of the younger Kharites, Pasithea, the one whom all my days I have longed for."
