Overall Description: Poseidon has generally dark hair set sharply against the eyes the color of the sea. He is similar to his brothers in the aspect of being broad shouldered and being quite handsome. His body is consistent with the ripple of tanned muscles that are present throughout. His muscles are lean and not overbearing on his figure. The tanned skin has hardness to it, because of the constant exposure to the sun and to the rough saltiness of the sea. He always carries around a scent of sea salt and morning dew around with him wherever he goes.

Personality Description: Poseidon is an interesting individual when it comes to his moods. He can be completely genial whenever the seas are calm and peaceful, but this can instantly change the moment the sea becomes turbulent. Many have attributed this behavior of the sea to reflect the unpredictability of Poseidon’s emotions and conduct. He can be easily offended and easily the offender, in the case of Zeus at times. Poseidon can have a temper whenever something doesn’t suit him well, though he can be decent whenever the occasion calls. He will yield in his conquests or behavior if it is so commanded by Zeus, though he probably won’t be agreeable about it.

History:
Poseidon was one of the five of Rhea’s and Chronus’ children that were swallowed by Chronus. Thanks to Rhea’s trickery, their youngest son was saved and he eventually grew into adulthood. Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Demeter, and Hestia were later saved by Zeus when he tricked his father into gorging the rest of his offspring into life. These were the first generation of Olympians and this event caused a war for dominance of the world/universe between the Olympians and Titans. Hades received a helmet of invisibility and stole the Titan’s weapons late at night. Poseidon received a trident and Zeus received a thunderbolt, which were both used as offensive weapons in the war. Eventually, the Olympians triumphed and the three brothers drew lots for who would rule which realm. Zeus became the ruler of the skies, Poseidon over the waters, and Hades over the Underworld.
Eversince then, Poseidon has gained the reputation for trying to gain more areas of interest, being involved in war, and even being a figure in the attempt to overthrow Zeus along with Hera and some other important individuals. Since then though, he has gone back in forth on either supporting Zeus or opposing him. Poseidon has once offended him and was punished by being forced to build the walls of Troy with Apollo, who was faced with a similar charge as Poseidon. When king Laomedon of Troy’s greed got the better of him when he refused to pay them, Apollo sent a plague and Poseidon sent a sea monster that beleaguered Troy until it was destroyed by Hercules. It is this and other events that define Poseidon and his actions.
