[[ A Tale Older Than Time Itself ]]
In the beginning there was nothing but Chaos. It was thought of as an abyss that was immeasurable. But then, by some miracle, out of this bleak nothingness came a small miracle, Love. This newfound hope, Agape, started to drive away all of the nothingness and confusion of Chaos. After his initial anger faded, Chaos soon found himself falling for Agape and he wooed her into becoming his Queen.
With Their union, came the first of the four Primordial gods and goddesses, Night (Nyx) and Darkness (Erebus). Like Their father they was vast and dark, but like Their mother they had something precious laying deep within them… love. Seeking it They came together and from their union came the most unusual thing… out of Night and Darkness, came Light (Aether) and Day (Hemera), the last of the Primordial Gods.
While Light and Day flourished on Their own, Nyx and Erebus went on to have a set of twin sons known as the Nyktos, Mighty Gods that governed over Sleep and Death (Hypnos and Thanatos respectively.) They never left each other sides nor their parents.
Soon the Pantheon of Gods were joined by five more, known as the Taurians, the Children of Light and Day. Tartarus, the Hellish Pit of the Earth was the eldest, gently dropped from his mother’s womb as Aether and Hemera swirled around him in bliss. Soon following Him was Gaia, Earth Herself, who at birth began surrounding and comforting her brother as Their Divine Parents continued on.
After a while, Hemera and Aether brought forth a set of twin Girls. Thalassa and Eurynome, who filled the deep crevasses that was created on Gaia when Earth surrounded Tartarus, creating The Oceans and The Mediterranean Sea. As their four children watched them from below, Light and Day created one more child The Sky, Ouranus who wrapped himself around his sisters and brother, protecting them.
The five siblings lived in harmony and set out to create creatures of all sorts to place on their new home. As Gaia raised up Mt. Olympus, Ouranus declared it as the home and meeting place of the Pantheon. As they grew Ouranus took his sister Gaia as his wife, queen and companion.
The first creatures to appear on the earth were the offspring of Mother Earth and Father Sky. These first creatures were monsters, and thought of as similar in intelligence to humans. Three of these creatures had one hundred hands and fifty heads and they were incredibly strong. Three others had just one eye in the centre of their head and these creatures were given the name of Cyclopes. The Cyclopes too were giant and strong. The last of the creatures were the Titans. These creatures were also strong and giant but these creatures were not all bad. In fact it would be some of these creatures that would eventually lead to the creation of the Olympians.
But there was trouble in paradise, something had changed in Ouranus, he became a bad father and husband. He hated the Hecatoncheires. He imprisoned them by pushing them into the hidden places of the earth, Gaia's womb. He did horrible things to his other children, The Titans. This angered Gaia and she plotted against her beloved husband with her siblings and children..
She made a flint sickle and tried to get her children to attack Uranus. All were too afraid except, the youngest Titan, Cronus. After he and Rhea returned for their honeymoon, Gaia and Cronus set up an ambush of Ouranus as he lay with Gaia at night. Cronus grabbed his father and castrated him, with the stone sickle, throwing the severed genitals into the ocean then imprisoned him. After this, Cronus and his sister, Rhea, became the King and Queen of the universe.
