Homo-superior, the next step in evolution. Human beings gifted with incredible abilities, they live among us, many wanting nothing more than to live their lives in peace. Then there are others; others who believe that Homo-superior, mutants, will rise and take their rightful place of rulers of the world.
Fear. It is a powerful emotion that drives even the most logical man to rash actions. It was the basis behind the Mutant Cure, and although it began as a choice, certain mutants knew it was just the first step toward genocide. Of course, Magneto was the first to step forward and put a stop to it.
A battle cry was heard and the X-Men answered, but they were sorely outnumbered by Magneto’s Brotherhood. The heroes fought valiantly but in the end it was not enough. Good does not always triumph. Although they were allowed to live, the “Cure” they had tried to protect was used against them, stripping them of their powers, and they were sent home, broken and defeated. Destroying the facility, and their greatest adversaries harmless, there was little standing in the way of Magneto’s dream of world dominance.
Every empire must begin somewhere, and with the help of several young mutants with exceptional skills, Magneto gained control of the next step in government warfare against mutants: The Sentinels. Reversing the programming, these behemoths now guard the city of New York against all aggressive humans, allowing mutants to reign as the Master of Magnetism believes they should.
What do you believe?
